Project Fear was initiated in 2022 to start a discussion around fear and make people feel less alone. 1,000 people shared their biggest fear which originated in the digital installation "The Wall of Fears," receiver of the Somerville Open Studios project grant in 2025, and the show “Let’s Talk About Fear” in January 2025. I am so glad you found our website! My name is Karin Anell and I believe Ralph Waldo Emerson was right: "Fear defeats more people than anything in the world." Fear has fascinated me for so long and my conviction was always that this primal emotion lies behind most of society's problem and individual issues as well. And I was curious. What are other people fearful of? After having asked 1,000 people I have my answer. And I now want to use this as a basis to engage people around the world in an important conversation. What fear stands in your way to live fully and connect with others?
